The JSONForge Core Guarantee: Zero Data Uploads

Unlike traditional online developer tools, JSONForge executes 100% inside your web browser. When you paste, format, validate, analyze, diff, or convert JSON payloads, your data is processed entirely in your device's local memory using modern JavaScript and Web Workers. Your JSON data is never transmitted to, inspected by, or stored on our servers.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

Because JSONForge is architected strictly as a client-side Progressive Web Application (PWA):

  • We do not collect, view, or record your JSON payloads, schemas, or models.
  • We do not collect passwords, API keys, tokens, or credentials contained within your data.
  • We do not require user registration, logins, or credit card details to use any feature.
  • We do not maintain a database of user-submitted documents.

2. Local Browser Storage (IndexedDB & LocalStorage)

To ensure you do not lose your work when you accidentally refresh or close your browser tab, JSONForge saves your open tabs, formatting settings, and Time Machine snapshot history into your browser's private local storage (specifically using IndexedDB via idb-keyval and localStorage).

This data remains solely inside your browser profile on your local computer. It is never synced to external servers or accessible by other domains. You can clear this stored data at any time via your browser's "Clear Site Data" or "Clear Cookies and Storage" settings.

3. Advertising Partners & Google AdSense Policy Disclosure

To keep JSONForge 100% free and open to developers worldwide, we partner with third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense, to display non-intrusive advertisements on informational pages.

Please review the following required disclosures regarding third-party cookies:

  • Third-Party Vendors: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to JSONForge or other websites on the internet.
  • DART Cookies: Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visits to our site and/or other sites on the web.
  • Opting Out: You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
  • Strict Isolation: Third-party advertising scripts are isolated in the web page DOM and have zero programmatic access to your editor workspace, input buffers, or JSON payloads.

4. Server Log Files & Hosting Infrastructure

Like virtually all web hosts, the web servers serving JSONForge's static HTML, CSS, and JS assets automatically generate standard server access logs. These logs may record:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) addresses
  • Browser user agent type and operating system
  • Date, time, and referring/exit pages
  • Number of asset requests for server performance monitoring

This technical data is utilized strictly for server load balancing, security threat mitigation, and DDoS prevention. Server access logs are never linked to any personally identifiable information.

5. GDPR Data Protection Rights (EEA/UK Users)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, rectify, or erase any personal information held about you. Because JSONForge does not collect user accounts or store user data on remote databases, your primary right to erasure is exercisable immediately by clearing your browser's local cache and storage.

6. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)

Under the CCPA, California consumers have the right to request disclosure of categories of personal information collected, request deletion, and opt out of the "sale" of personal information. JSONForge does not sell personal information of any user, nor do we exchange user data for monetary or other valuable consideration.
